1. About these terms

These terms govern your access to and use of asfi.africa (the "Website"), operated by ASFI Group ("ASFI", "we", "us", "our"). Contact: events@stanleyaustin.com.

By using the Website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Separate written terms will apply to any event registration, membership, programme, sponsorship or commercial engagement, and will prevail over these terms to the extent of any conflict.

2. Nature of the Website and no advice

The Website provides general information about ASFI, our convenings, roundtables, research and programmes for institutional asset owners and their partners.

  • No investment, legal, tax or financial advice. Nothing on the Website is advice or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any investment, or to enter any transaction. You should take independent professional advice before acting on any information.
  • No offer or solicitation. Nothing on the Website is an offer, invitation or solicitation to subscribe for or acquire securities or other financial products, or a financial promotion, in any jurisdiction.
  • Information accuracy. We take reasonable care but give no warranty that content is accurate, complete or current. Market, regulatory and economic information may change without notice. Forward-looking statements are uncertain and not guarantees.

3. Eligibility and professional use

The Website is directed at professional and institutional audiences. You confirm that you are at least 18 and use the Website for business or professional purposes. It is your responsibility to ensure that accessing the Website and its content is lawful in your jurisdiction.

4. Intellectual property

All content on the Website, including text, research, graphics, logos, names, designs and software, is owned by or licensed to ASFI and protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. "ASFI Group" and associated marks may not be used without our written consent.

You may view and print pages for your own internal, non-commercial use. You must not, without our prior written permission, copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, distribute, adapt or commercially exploit any content, or remove any proprietary notices. Quotation with clear attribution to ASFI for fair dealing purposes (such as criticism, review or news reporting) is permitted by law.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the Website unlawfully or to commit fraud, or in breach of sanctions, anti-bribery or anti-money-laundering laws;
  • introduce viruses, malware or other harmful material;
  • attempt unauthorised access to the Website, its servers or connected systems;
  • interfere with the Website's operation, including through automated scraping, overload or denial-of-service attacks;
  • submit false, misleading or infringing information, or impersonate another person or organisation; or
  • use the Website to send unsolicited commercial communications.

We may suspend or block access if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms.

6. Information you submit

Personal data you submit is handled under our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit and confirm you have authority to submit it on behalf of any organisation you name. Please do not send confidential, price-sensitive or inside information through the Website's forms; submissions are not treated as confidential unless separately agreed in writing.

7. Third-party links and content

The Website may link to or display third-party content, including partner and event-host sites. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Referencing an organisation, individual or product does not imply endorsement or partnership.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the Website available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may modify, suspend or withdraw any part of the Website at any time without notice or liability.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • the Website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", and we exclude all implied warranties and conditions;
  • we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Website or its content, including indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or investment loss; and
  • our total aggregate liability to you arising out of use of the Website, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to £100.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against losses, claims and costs arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the Website, to the extent permitted by law.

11. Sanctions, anti-corruption and compliance

You confirm that you will not use the Website in breach of applicable sanctions, export control, anti-bribery or anti-money-laundering laws, and that you are not subject to sanctions that would make dealing with you unlawful. We may decline or terminate dealings where compliance requires.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Website after changes means you accept them.

13. General

  • Entire agreement. These terms, with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement concerning use of the Website.
  • Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver. Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. We may assign these terms; you may not without our written consent.
  • Third-party rights. A person who is not a party has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce these terms.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Website (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, save that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
