Rwanda Sustainable Finance

De‑risking Green Growth

Financing Green Resilience

How can Rwanda pioneer innovative instruments, close bankability gaps, and establish itself as Africa’s climate finance hub?

Rwanda is emerging as a leading hub for sustainable and climate finance in Africa. Strong policy foundations—including a Sustainable Finance Framework, ESG banking guidance, and a Carbon Market Framework—have enabled early momentum across renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, and landscape restoration. Yet translating ambition into a consistent pipeline of investment-ready transactions, coordinated market activity, and scaled private capital remains a challenge. The Rwanda Sustainable Finance Intensive (RwSFI) is a transaction-focused platform designed to close this gap. By convening public and private decision-makers, strengthening ESG, carbon market, and blended-finance capabilities, and accelerating deal flow, RwSFI connects climate ambition with investable outcomes—supporting Rwanda’s transition to a climate-resilient, high-income economy.
