Solomon Quaynor is the Vice-President for Private Sector, Infrastructure & Industrialization at the African Development Bank. He joined the Bank in May 2020. He has over 25 years of experience in development finance and investment banking.
From 2018-2020 after Mr. Quaynor left the IFC to join the private sector, he provided specialized advisory services in emerging markets as a senior advisor at Rothschild Global Advisory for Africa; a senior advisor for sub-Saharan Africa at the IFU, the Danish development finance institution; an investment committee member and senior advisor with a $350 million African private equity fund; and as a senior advisor at an African infrastructure fund. He has also served on the boards of InfraCredit Nigeria and Verdant Ventures.
Mr. Quaynor worked at IFC in various capacities for several years, becoming an emerging markets specialist investor with experience in developing business and investing across financial institutions, including bank & non-bank financial institutions, telecoms, media & technology, and infrastructure. He has experience supporting senior executives and board leadership of corporates in strategy development, key government/regulatory engagement and private sector partnership development, and has frequently served as a trusted advisor to the C-Suite with companies across multiple sectors in Africa.
Before IFC, Mr. Quaynor worked in the U.S. in investment banking, providing corporate finance advisory services to large and medium corporates. He worked for Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns in New York City as an associate and Vice President in the generalist and media & communications groups. Before attending business school, Mr. Quaynor was a college professor at the Atlanta University Center in math and engineering.
Mr. Quaynor is a graduate of the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He also holds an MSc in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as a BS in applied physics from Atlanta University Center.

Maya Hennerkes
Director, Green Financial Systems: Climate Strategy and Delivery

Maya Hennerkes is the Director for Green Financial Systems at the Climate Strategy and Delivery Department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). She is responsible for EBRD’s climate-related lending to Financial Intermediaries as well as the Bank’s own green methodologies such as Paris Alignment and Green Economy Transition approaches. She represents EBRD in relevant international forums such as the EU Sustainable Finance Platform and NGFS. Prior to this role, Maya led EBRD’s ESG work with financial institutions and private equity funds. She promotes sustainable financial systems and the integration of climate, environmental and social matters in investment decisions and management. Maya is a sustainable finance and ESG expert with almost 20 years of experience, with previous positions at the Inter-American Development Bank Group in Washington DC and Bloomberg L.P. in London.
She is a member of the Club of Rome’s Think Tank 30 and serves on the Advisory Boards of SustainableFinance.Live and WeShyft. Maya studied economics, political science and Latin America studies in Germany and Spain and holds an Executive Masters in Public Management from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
