Unlocking Systemic Impact

Africa faces extreme weather, financial instability, unsustainable debt, and high capital costs. Amid this, the continent urgently needs increased sustainable and climate finance to transition to a low-carbon, inclusive, and resilient economy. A new financing strategy is essential to complement traditional sources. This new approach is vital for supporting the investment needed for Africa’s sustainability shift. Sustainable capital markets can bolster traditional markets, making them more adaptable to Africa’s evolving needs. However, strengthening the structures and standards of these markets is crucial to prevent fragmentation and greenwashing.
