Tendai Matika is currently the Head of Africa, Responsible Investment Ecosystems for the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). In this role, Tendai is responsible for enhancing Responsible Investment awareness and practises across the African region, supporting signatories in their implementation of the PRI Principles as well as supporting meaningful policy outreach to effect system change. Tendai previously worked for the International Labour Organization (ILO), aiding the implementation of the Productivity Ecosystems for Decent Work Programme in South Africa. Prior to joining the ILO, Tendai worked for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), helping businesses and other organizations in the African region to communicate and take responsibility for their impacts on the economy, the environment and people. She collaborated with a wide range of partners in South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and Mauritius to advance sustainability reporting by increasing awareness and promoting the use of the GRI Standards. Tendai completed a Master of Philosophy degree in Social Policy and Development with distinction as well as degrees in Development Studies and Public Governance.
